.In veterinary medicine "Harira" generally means a nutritious tonic used to cleanse the uterus, expel the placenta and heal the uterus of animals likecow, buffalo after delivery , which contains desi ghee, jaggery, dry fruits, and spices (celery, cumin, dry ginger), which helps in milk production and recovery of the animal, especially when the animal is not staying or repeating.

Main veterinary uses of Harira:

Removal of Placenta: If the animal does not shed the placenta after delivery (Retained Placenta), then giving Harira helps in removing the placenta easily.
Uterine Cleaning: It cleans the inside of the uterus and prevents infection, thereby helping the animal recover quickly.
Helps in uterine contraction: It helps in bringing the uterus back to its normal position and contracting it.

How and when to give:

Timing: It should be given immediately after delivery or after the placenta has fallen. It is not safe during pregnancy and should not be given during pregnancy.
Dose: Large animals (cow/buffalo) can be given about 150-200 ml daily by dissolving it in water for 7-10 days, whereas small animals (goat) can be given 15-20 ml daily.
